"Stryka" is the newest addition to join our WEILANDER family. His pedigree, conformation and easy going temperament are a welcome addition to our breeding program. His achievements in 2002 included gaining his CH show title and his CD (Companion Dog) title in obedience. In July he gained his TD (tracking dog title) and his TDX (tracking dog excellent title). In August he completed his tracking by gaining his Track 6 giving him the Tracking Champion Title. His tracking titles were gained in 6 straight trials. As well as this he has also proven to be an assett when accompanying Bevan on his hunting trips. He is a willing retriever and ever keen to go out bush. Stryka will continue to be seen occasionally in the show ring as well as trialling in obedience and our new activity agility, jumping and games. We have now began competing in retrieving trials. At his first attempt at Beginners he was awarded the Encouragement Award by judge Mr Jack Monsatel. In June 2007 he gained his CDX title in obedience. In August we attended our first Novice Retrieving Trial and Stryka passed all tests to achieve his QC. We will now be participating in future trials to try and gain retrieving titles. A lovely dog with a great future. Unfortunately Stryka's retrieving career was put on hold in 2008 due to an injury, but now he is back and will be competing again in 2009. 2009 saw him finish many trials and achieve 2 x 4th places and a 2nd. In 2010 a new retrieving title came in. QND (Qualifying Novice Dog) can now be achieved by gaining 5 full trial finishes. Stryka now has this title to his name and along with this final pass he also gained a 2nd place from 28 entries. He is the first Weimaraner to qualify for QND. Now we just keep hoping for the 1st placings.
